Thato Cooper, who grew up in the middle of the Kalahari Desert, lives side by side with lions. He works in an unusual reserve dedicated to protecting wild animals. Thato and the reserve find themselves caught between two fronts when two wild lions settle in the area and begin killing the cattle of local ranchers. The lions in the area are difficult to reconcile with the region’s important cattle breeding industry.
