Jonatan Geller-Hartung was born in 1995 in Hannover, Germany, and works as a documentary filmmaker based in Berlin. He studied «Digital Media» and later «Film and Television Production» at the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF. During this time, he produced several short films that were screened and awarded at international film festivals. The 16mm short film my own kind, written and produced by him, was nominated for the German Short Film Award in 2019.

His master’s graduation project as producer, the feature-length documentary Hausnummer Null (ZDF Kleines Fernsehspiel), received several festival awards and was nominated for the «61st Grimme Award». For his work on the film, Jonatan was awarded the «First Steps Award» by the german film academy.

Jonatan Geller-Hartung is currently working on a documentary for ARTE and a podcast for Deutschlandfunk, among other projects. He works in close collaboration with numerous production companies and broadcasters. His work is driven by a strong interest in people and their stories, aiming to bring their perspectives and experiences to the screen.
